The Butler County Conservation Board is seeking an individual who is professional, a self-starter, and will be an energetic leader ready to continue leading a well-organized and successful department. This position oversees the management of 27 areas totaling over 2400 acres, 21 miles of paved bike trail, and a newly expanded nature center. This position will also oversee 5 fulltime staff members.
The work week is non-typical, but generally is Monday through Friday at 40 hours per week; occasionally up to 55 to 65 hours per week as needed.
Must live within 30 miles of the Butler County Conservation shop for emergency response.
This position is a full time position and is FLSA Exempt. Benefits include health insurance, IPERS, vacation, and sick time.
Bachelor's degree in outdoor recreation, wildlife, forestry, natural resources or other applicable field and at least 5 years of experience in natural resources or parks management.
Have a two-year degree in outdoor recreation, wildlife, forestry, natural resources or other applicable field and have at least 10 years of experience in the county conservation system.
Acquire and maintain valid state of Iowa driver's license.
Acquire and maintain fire certification of NWCG S-130 and S-190. Certifications must be obtained within one year.
