Butler County Sheriff's Office Job Announcement

The Butler County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the positions of Part time and Full time DISPATCHER/JAILER.  These positions require 8-hour shift work, weekends, holidays, and the ability to multitask in a high stress environment. The Butler County Sheriff’s office will provide on the job training, no experience needed. Job duties include receiving emergency calls from the public requesting law enforcement, fire, ambulance or other emergency services.

Dispatch involves determining the location and the nature of an emergency then prioritizing and dispatching emergency units as necessary. Dispatchers are the link between the public and first responders.

These positions also require successful applicants to rotate shifts in the jail working directly with the incarcerated population. Jailers are responsible for the safety and security of the incarcerated population.
