Notice of County Commissions Vacancies

NOTICE OF COUNTY COMMISSIONS VACANCIES

The Butler County Board of Supervisors is taking applications for a few various county board and commission appointments beginning in 2026.  Butler County appreciates diversity in these appointments and welcomes all applicants at least 18 years of age.  Terms and dates of appointments vary, and completing a mandatory training course regarding the Open Meeting and Open Records law is required within 90 days of taking office.  These are unpaid positions.  Below are the boards and commissions with current vacancies:

Compensation Commission in Eminent Domain: This is a 28-member commission representing realtors, farmers, bankers, auctioneers and city property owners to be available to the chief judge of the judicial district to assess damages to property taken by eminent domain.

Magistrate Appointing Commission: This is a 3-member commission to select and appoint local judicial magistrates and recommend nominees for District Associate Judges.
